I'm Back To Writing!
I am back, baby! Took some time away from writing, mostly not by choice but by choice. I relapsed into my World of Warcraft (wow) addiction and that had been consuming every available moment of free time and a lot of moments of not free time.
During this episode of wow addiction, I inherited a guild. That was a weird situation. I was in a guild doing my thing. The GM seemed like a cool dude with a great mindset about how the guild should work; being kind to each other, being helpful to each as main priority, and doing things as a guild. And then one day he disbanded the guild. So me and a few members remade the guild with a new name (The Disbanded) and gathered as many of the original people as we could. Now i am running the guild with the same values and have a tonne of really cool people that I really appreciate and we are getting near to raiding status.
From this wow relapse, I am trying to take some story materials for my own writing. As such, I currently want to write a fantasy story that focuses on the social and group dynamics of the adventure party, more than on the villain or main conflict. I am going to start working on that and posting about it to get feed back on it as I go. However, I am still playing wow and a new semester has started, so it might be slow going. In hopes of having a steady content flow going forward, I am going to set a daily writing goal.
As part of my return, I want to do book recaps. On YouTube is a guy who does movie recaps in minutes. The videos are non opinionated recaps, and they are incredibly useful if you are four movies deep and don't want to re-watch all of them to catch up to the newest release (Looking at Harry Potter, Star Wars, and Marvel Universe in particular). I would like to do the same thing for books. There are a couple of series that I would love to just be able to read a recap for, and trigger the old memory. I am going to try that with the next book I read, "A Psalm for the Wild Built" by Becky Chambers. Keep an eye out for that in the near future.
